Description
This segment will focus on establishing an understanding of adolescent development and the research tenets that reflect the deleterious effect on normal youth development by abuse and neglect. Additionally, the session will clarify definitions for the target population of dual status youth, or those who experience a status in both the child welfare and juvenile justice system and reflect the alarming likelihood that these youth will experience long term involvement in the criminal justice system and other negative educational, behavioral health and employment outcomes.
